Prison Camp Album — Signatures

Back to Introduction
When Hong Kong was surrendered to the Japanese on Christmas day, 1941, British prisoners of war were incarcerated in Sham Shui Po Camp. Among them were Portuguese members of the Hong Kong Volunteer Defence Corps. Company Sergeant Major Marciano “Naneli” Baptista, a talented artist, produced a series of drawings during 1941-1945 in Sham Shui Po and incorporated them into a Camp Album.
Prisoners signed pages of the camp album; these are reproduced here.
