The basic ingredients are flour, butter, jagra (block raw sugar), coconut, almonds and pine nuts. Each cook has her own little secret which is guarded and perhaps in a few decades the traditional little plates with slices of aluar will no long be seen on Christmas eve feasts.(GNB)
